Rock Band 3 Pro Guitar – Amazing Product Worth The Charge!
I’ve been playing guitar pretty casually for around 5 years now, and the Rock Band 3 Pro Guitar happens to be great for helping push me when it comes to learning. I’m still no Jimi Hendrix, and I probably will not ever be, but I’ve certainly improved a lot since buying it. The new Train Song mode in Rock band 3 has been amazing for this kind of. That said, the product is not really without its flaws.
Some thoughts: I can’t tell you how much help it is kid play along with the backing program the game, without your part to be had unless you’re playing it. It assists you to pick out exactly what your instrument is performing, and how it fits into this song. Since you’re just triggering the parts which were already recorded, you don’t have to worry about matching EQ and effects to wonder if that’s why it sounds different when you will play, or anything like that. Sad to say, because you’re just triggering the prerecorded records and chords, when you mess upward, you can’t hear exactly how you messed up. That’s been the biggest help as i play Pro Keys with my possess keyboard in RB3: if I can hear generate an income messed up the note I smudged, that helps me understand how to never mess it up next time. You don’t get that with this Mustang (though you can receive it with the Squier when who comes out). This can be alleviated by learning the song for the game and then working it out and practicing at a real guitar, which you should have if you’re actually learning. You can get a cheap starter guitar for a comparable as the Mustang, so there’s no reason to fail to, really.
But that’s all about the reccommended Rock Band 3 Guitar experience, I suppose, rather than the Mustang in particular.
The Mustang, despite the fact that great, does present some problems. As revealed in numerous other interviews, there’s a great amount of disconnect present between the strings as well as the buttons, which is difficult for guitar players if you tend to coordinate your hands based upon them touching the same physical string that runs all the way up up the neck. This is exacerbated by the belief that the strings/buttons are all the identical thickness, thickness being another cue for the guitar player to know what strings their hands are on. However, this really isn’t that big of your deal. You get used to it pretty quickly, and if you’re just starting outside without prior guitar experience, then maybe learning how to tell where your hands are without those two cues will always make you better. Then again, maybe it’ll make it way harder to gain knowledge of. I dunno, string thickness wasn’t something I ever taken into account consciously until the Mustang.
The only other problem I’ve run across with it is that its capability to use both Pro Guitar and regular Guitar modes on RB3 isn’t that great when you play regular Guitar mode on Guru (or probably hard). It takes a little getting used to on Medium or possibly Easy, but it’s definitely doable, and my friends don’t have a complaints. But I tend to play on expert because Now i’m a nerd who has been playing Rockband (and the first two Guitar Heroes) pertaining to effing ever, and I can’t do expert Guitar over the Mustang for crap. My hands just won’t allow do it. This may be because my neural can’t let my hands work the Rock band play style on a real-shaped six string. Who knows? (I don’t. )
In a nutshell, it’s a great starter product, and perfect for learning on, but it shouldn’t be your only method of obtaining guitar playing fun. Get a real guitar, too. I think one regarding RB1′s loading screens recommended that, truly, so this is really just Harmonix’s technique of driving that point home.
